Overview

A tour of the Monster Editor and its main concepts.

The Monster Editor lets you build monsters and NPCs for D&D 5th Edition. This page gives you a quick tour of its main concepts.

The stat block

The stat block on the right side of the editor is a live preview of your monster: every change you make is reflected immediately, and values like attack bonuses, save DCs and Challenge Rating are recalculated automatically.

Simple and Advanced mode

The editor has two modes:

  • Simple mode hides advanced options and keeps the workflow quick and clean.
  • Advanced mode unlocks complex features, like the ability to create monsters that scale across Challenge Ratings.

You can switch mode at any time while editing.

Automatic calculations

Most numeric values in the stat block are calculated for you. You can override any of them manually when you need full control.

Saving your work

Log in to save your monsters to your library and organize them with the file manager.

This is a test environment. Any data you enter will be deleted in the future. Do not store any information that you want to keep.
